''When I see him, it lifts me up and I feel safe.''

- CareNet Care Receiver

What We Offer

CareNet volunteers form one-on-one friendships with care receivers. Our director works very hard to match volunteers with care receivers and accompanies the volunteer on the first visit to the care receiver’s home.

If you think you’d like to become a volunteer, and are 18 years or older, please ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I have a heart for helping others?
  • Do I have an hour or more a week to spend serving one-on-one with a care receiver?
  • Do I have a car or a way to get around?

If your answers are YES! then volunteering for CareNet may be you.

The next steps to take:

  • Contact the CareNet director to explore volunteer opportunities.
  • Complete an application available from the office, or “Click Here” for an online application.
  • Obtain Criminal and Child abuse clearances. It is important to us to insure the protection of our care receivers & volunteers. Applications are available at the first interview.
  • Provide two references from people outside your family.

Training for volunteers:
Following a successful interview, you will be invited to attend two 2-hour training sessions, arranged as much as possible, at your convenience. You will be given a CareNet Training Manual that explains everything you need to know to have a meaningful, enjoyable experience.

Assignment to a Care Receiver:
After you are trained, the director will assign you to an appropriate care receiver and introduce you to one another. You and the care receiver will both sign an individually designed Service Plan that says what you will do as a volunteer.

CareNet volunteers receive update training opportunities. They also met periodically with the director; ongoing support is always available.

Our services depend upon the availability of volunteers!
